Fascinating prognostication that fits the facts past, present and even future!
Impressive and extensive history of the Mississippi and men who have wronged her. A bit technical for some bit order it and study it. The River has been trying to jump channel for years. Man has been successful in keeping the Old Man on it’s present course but the river will win out in the long run. It always does.
Very well written. Extensive background on the Old River as well as the Corps' efforts to prevent it's breakout.

Third of 3 books by Barrnett and all are very good
I haven't read it all yet but I like the information in the book.
This book tells truth about the river that everyone seems to want to ignore. We ignore the history and science at our peril.
