If you are interested in the RA LAW OF ONE Material (consisting of 5 paperback books of channelings in the early 80's), this book is an excellent start. The actual RA Material can be rather difficult to understand. The language used can be quite esoteric. Carla's book documents the contents of the RA Law of One books in common English language. Where she brings up the RA terminology, she clearly defines and describes it for the reader.CAVEAT: Carla suffered from the erroneous belief that 2012 would be when Earth physically transcends into the 4th Density, with a harvest of Earth humans that shares some characteristics with the Christian Rapture. Of course, we are all still here. Carla died in 2015, but her organization, the L/L Research Group, did insert an introductory page suggesting that readers ignore all of Carla' references to 2012. I do not think her focus on 2012 invalidates the material. This is more than a New Age style belief system. This is a structure for leading a kind loving life and improving yourself.

For those who have read or plan to read the RA series books, this is a super sum-up of the belief system. Rueckert does a great job of putting the 'not so understandable' into plain language. It's a great book for reading before you start the series or after you have read them. I have read all the books and find that this book answers several questions I had when I finished them. I highly recommend it.

I've never read the Law of One before nor heard of it until recently. I was looking for an easy introduction to the material instead of reading it online and a friend suggested this book. I've been enjoying it for a while now and I highly recommend it.The book is broken up into short chapters which start with a reading from the material then there is a page or two discussing the concepts more in-depth.At first I was loving what I was reading so I was just turning the pages and reading it like any other book. But then the lessons or messages started resonating with me more so I slowed way down and really let the words sink in. At one point I would just read one concept and the deeper discussion on the topic and let that be enough for a meditation.In later chapters it gets into lessons on chakras, colors and all that. Sometimes I jump ahead to some concept or lesson that's really on my mind or heart and just read and meditate on that and I don't think I've even missed anything. Oh sure, I've skipped over lots of material that can help add flavor to that current topic but the ability to get a meaningful lesson by skipping around, much the same way a newspaper is read, is quite fun.

For those who find the a Ra Material: The Law of One series to be a tad dry, a bit slow, and confusing; This condenses it all down into a format that is a lot easier to understand and follow. Karla Ruekkart choose to be the conduit for Ra'Ta in the 1990s and their transcripts are what is called the five book series of the Ra Material.The Law of One is the true base for every major religion. Each began with brave souls choosing to be a temporary conduit for the benevolent entity Ra'Ta. Each time, the kabals that follow Baal'Zebub and Moloch were successful in perverting the teachings of Law of One to serve their own service-to-self interests.Originally all religions began as service-to-others; And this book helps us, return to that path, more easily than any other book that has been read by me.The only lament is that Kayla died before finishing 102 & 103. May you ask the Goddess to eternally alight your self-determined path.

This is much more readable since the wonderful, late Carla Ruechert translated her channeled materials 'The Law of One" into modern language. Anyone trying to figure why we are here and what life is all about, wondering about the afterlife, what happens to us after we die needs to read this book. I was fortunate to listen to Carla many Sundays on Wynn Free's radio show on BBS. She was always so enlightened and a delight to learn from. Love and miss you Carla.

The theory (and research) behind the book is still fundamental (and highly relevant today).The book isn't because most of the companies mentioned and used as examples have either ceased to exist or are in a completely different spot today. That casts a shadow on the great theory behind it. Also the fact that their was some strange 'mass buying' of books at the time of publishing to get it onto the bestseller list is shady and does not instill trust and confidence into the content. It is also true that it is dragged out and lengthy .Still it is one of my favorite business books because it is so relevant- and still widely ignored.I feel it is even ignored by the authors who seemed to have abandoned what they preach and have follow up with other books and give the impression that this theory is now invalid and we need a new one.

The information (specifically the examples) is/are dated. The book could benefit from an updating. With that said, the three concepts presented in the book continue to be relevant. If you can get through the dated examples and just focus on the three key concepts the book is worth quick read. My company adopted the Operational Excellence model and it proved very beneficial. We now are focusing more on the Client Centered concepts in the book.

As the title suggests this book is about what sets leading companies apart from the average ones. According to the authors, there are three dimensions along which companies can focus on: cost, innovation, or service. Leading companies are ones that focus all their efforts and resources to excel in one of these dimensions while being average on the others. Operational excellence (cost leadership) is achieved by making the operations of the company as efficient as can be. These are companies such as WalMart that constantly find ways to reduce their Opex and pass these savings to their customers. Their customers are always looking for the lowest price. Product leadership (innovation) is achieved by continually pushing to the market place new products. These are companies such as Intel which constantly release new products into the marketplace to displace their own products and remain ahead of everyone else. Finally, customer intimacy (service leadership) is achieved by companies that make customer service exceptional. These are companies such as Southwestern airlines which have an extreme focus on their customers and have understood to the nth degree their needs and desires.The most important concept is that leading companies must never loose focus along the chosen dimension. If they do, companies can quickly loose their leadership position and eventually perish. The authors do provide numerous examples of companies that have gone on this journey.A very insightful and highly recommended business/marketing book that brings execution back to its basics. If I had to add/change something in it, it would be to add more details to the journeys that some companies took from being market leaders to followers. The learnings on the business strategy side through such experience would be very valuable.

I read may business books. The Discipline of Market Leaders should be required reading. I have used quotes from this book in presentation. It is great advice from small business to giant corporations.

Purchased this as a requirement for a graduate level course. I had 2 months to read the book before any material related to the book would be due. I ended up finishing the book within a few hours of starting it and got ahead in that class.

Treacy and Wiersema make the case that the value of a product or service to a customer can be categorized in terms of efficiency (eg. low cost, on-time delivery), innovation (eg. latest technology or fashion) and/or customer intimacy (eg. customized solutions). They go on to argue that delivering each kind of value requires a different organization and culture, and hence the most successful companies are those whose business strategy is focused on delivering a particular kind of value to the customers that appreciate it the most, while remaining competitive in other areas. The analysis is accompanied by case studies of AT&T Universal Card, Intel and Airborne Express. The core idea of the book is valuable and 200 pages is plenty to explore it in detail.

Bought this for part of my 7th grade class on flight and space, woah these are difficult. So far no 7th grader has made a successfully flying plane from this book. Granted they are also impatient and sloppy 7th graders.But these planes are complex and intricate, so only buy if you are going to sit and help your kid, or if you are a paper plane enthusiast who has the patience to make these. They seem awesome, but my kids are struggling with them. Not a problem for me because they spend so much time on them!

My son used this book for months! We made dozens of airplanes and he learned how to use a ruler by using this book. I think it is fun and a great teaching tool into applied measurements.My 7 year old used this book all last summer. We still do use it sometimes. It also taught him how to use a ruler and about fractions. He probably made about 40 airplanes (no kidding).

My son loves this book and he walked around with it for a week and worked on planes the whole time

Airplane designs are very detailed and difficult for beginners. Recommend for someone that has lots of experience making paper airplanes.

I really enjoyed this book and had a great time with the designs. The only problem I had with this book is the cover. The three paper airplanes on the cover are nowhere to be seen within the book. I hoped to see these models again from his other book but I enjoyed the new designs, nonetheless. I feel the designs in this book are a great foundation to work with when I decide to modify the designs to make them look more like modern jet fighters.

I was really looking forward to reading this book as the “Blurb” read well. So much for hype “Author/Publisher Hype”…Instead of my expectations for a “fantastically good book” I instead received a “mediocre” read. “Filler Reading”!No, in all honesty, I cannot recommend this book as I did not find it all that enjoyable, and therefore if I did not enjoy it then why in the world would I recommend it?That said, I will attempt “two more books”, in the series in the hope that it improves, and I will not begin reading them with the same level of anticipation and expectation that I did this one.

I needed a fast read and chose this one because I like the name Flint and have read some of Johnstone's work before. I don't expect any two authors to be the same, so I accept the style and methods with the purchase. William Johnstone delivers a complicated group of individuals and a leading personality so that the reader is given an opportunity to empathize with the characters and evaluate traits. A typical Johnstone stretch, Flintlock is a bastard who cannot find his mother so that he can find out who his father is. He has been reared by his maternal grandfather who had a tattoo of a thunderbird placed on Flintlock's throat when the boy was small. Now Flintlock is 40, grandfather is dead but visits and speaks to Flintlock often and provides some assistance is preserving Flintlock's life.The outlandishness of the situation is quite severe, sometimes the language and actions are base and brutal, but the hero Flintlock survives this round and comes off quite honorable because he helps a young woman after she has been brutally attacked to reclaim her sanity and strength, then rides away to continue his search for the woman who can tell him his real name.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Flintlock and recommend it to anyone who loves reading great Westerns with authentic storyline and wonderful characters

The author behind the J. A. Johnstone gives us a most interesting character in Sam Flintlock. The son of a prostitute, he's raised by an old mountain man named Barnabas who gives him the Flintlock surname after the old Hawken muzzle loader he carries. Sam carries that now as well as more modern weapons such as a six gun tucked into a sash and a winchester.He's thirty-eight and wears cheap clothing(it's said he could sell them, boots included, for a dime. His most prominent feature is the thunderbird tattoo across his neck. Old Barnabas was a man of beliefs and the tattoo inspired fear in a lot of people, Apaches included.He collects bounties for a living.That gets him in trouble in a small town where one man refuses to go quietly and Sam is forced to kill him in defense of his life. Unfortunately, it's the outlaw's home town and he's quickly set up for a hanging.He gets broken out by an old outlaw friend, Abe Roper, and his partner Charlie Fong. They want him to ride shotgun for them as they go after an old bell made of solid gold, two thousand pounds worth, that had been found by an old miner who liked to talk a lot. Everyone is after it. And why not, At gold prices, that ran to six hundred thousand dollars. a half breed Apache named Jack Coffin is to be their guide.That's the main plot and along the way, the group run into Apaches, Geronimo himself among them, an outlaw band with their own agenda at Fort Defiance(stealing a hundred-twenty thousand dollar payroll), and a band of Mexican bandits.First of a series, I enjoyed this one.flag

First of the four book series. Very unusual writing style for a western. Liked it so much bought the other three.

It was an interesting story to read. This book was different than most of the books Johnstone has written. I think most everyone will enjoy reading this book.

I am an experienced blues guitar player of more than over 20 years. My problem has been implementing what I learn from books. Joseph Alexander has managed to present material in plan understandable language supported by tab and online audio files. In chapters outlining transition of 1,4,5 chords implenting emphasis on the 3rd and 7 th of chord guide tones has truly helped my blues playing and taken me to the next level.Thank you so much for your approach to learning. I will be purchasing more of your books in the near future. I have now purchase all books in the initial blues series.

A lot of guitar books disappoint me. This is one of the few that has, so far at least, exceeded my expectations. Though I tend to (try to) play more jazz than blues, we all realize that those two styles are close cousins, and the information I've gleaned from this book has applied directly to my jazz work.My one regret is that, in an effort to save myself a little money (and bookshelf space) I purchased the Kindle version. That makes it less convenient than I'd like to have it on my music stand while I'm playing.As always, you mileage may vary.

This is the third book of a series of Blues books by Joseph Alexander. Again, it's another well written book that's well laid out. This one shows you how to recognize note changes within chords changes and how to read the pentatonic scales from the new changes. There are audio examples to help you hear the changes as you're playing.

These books are written at the perfect speed and focus just on what you want to learn. They don't get bogged down in the things normal guitar books do. You open it up and immediately start learning licks. Audio samples are great too. Just load them right into iTunes and play them along with what you're doing.

Good material, contemporary examples. (not the boring old fashion music samples that most of other books offer)

This is the 3rd in the series and I can't wait to dig in after I finish The Complete Guide to Playing Blues Guitar 2.This is the 6th book of Joseph Alexanders that I own.My guitar playing has finally broken through the wall and has advanced to the point of renewed enthusiasm.Many thanks Joseph !

If you want to know how to sound more than okay over 12-bar, this book shows how to outline the changes more effectively. Clear and well written with great audio examples.

Must have reference for every blues player or beginner. Great all around, comprehensive body of work.
